BREAKING NEWS . . . We are expecting delivery of our new E-One Rescue truck in April of 2008. It is being built on a 2008 M-2 chassis and the order is in and is progressing smoothly. The district votes on the final approval of the leasing contract this month. More news will follow as it becomes available .
Mercy Flight Landing For North Rose F.D.

W.F.D. was dispatched around 2am to set up a Landing zone at our station for the North Rose F.D.
North Rose FD was working the scene of a Tepple Farms worker who was attacked with a
machete.
The worker was suffering major blood loss and cuts to the head. On scene at the landing zone for
Wallington was Engine-39 and M-32 as well as Chiefs 24-1,2,3,4. Fourteen firefighters assisted at
the landing zone as well. Patient was flown to Rochester General Hospital. Wallington went back
into service around 3:15am...
A.M.A To Sodus Intermediate School Fire Alarm

Wallington Engine Company went mutual assistance along with Sodus Center Fire Department to
an automatic alarm at the Sodus Intermediate Building. The assignment was handled by Sodus
Car 19-1 as command with Sodus Engine 27 taking the front of the building, and W.F.D., as well
as S.C.F.D., taking the rear at the hydrant. Thermal Camera from Wallington M-32 was used to
help determine that a ballast light in the gym area had caused the alarm to go off. Also on
scene for Wallington were 18 firefighters and Chiefs 24,1,2,3, & 4. S.C.F.D had E-45 and some
firefighters. S.F.D. was on scene with E-27 M-1 and some firefighters. Scene was secured after
the school reset the alarm and all went back into service a short time later.
1 Car M.V.A. Nobody Around

Around 3 am in the morning of Monday the 24th Wallington Engine Company responded with
Engine 39 and M-32 to the scene of a one car M.V.A. off the side of the road near the
railroad tracks on Burlee Road and State route 104. Upon arrival, there was no one found
around the vehicle and it appeared as though the truck had just lost control on the freshly
graveled road. Wayne County Sheriffs Department is handling the Investigation. W.F.D. went
back into service around 3:25am. In all, 15 firefighters, Chief cars 24-1, 3, & 4 were on scene.
2 Car M.V.A. Minor Injuries

In the late evening hours of Saturday the 25th Wallington Engine Company was dispatched to a 2 car
M.V.A with one injury at the intersection of State Route 104 & Burlee Road. 24-3 was first Chief on
scene assisted by 24-4. Responding units were Engine 39 and M-32 with 18 Firefighters. Sodus Town
Medic 88 was first E.M.S. on scene, determined that this was a sign-off, and cancelled all other
responding Ambulances. There was minor damage to both vehicles and both were able to drive away from
the scene. At 11:00pm Wallington 24-3 released all units to go back into service and turned the scene
over to the N.Y. State Troopers.
Wallington Works a 3 Car M.V.A

Wallington F.D. responded with an Engine and Rescue to the scene of a 3 car M.V.A. around 2:45 pm.
at the intersection of Ridge Rd. and North Rd. Three injuries were reported with Ambulance assist from
Sodus Center, Alton and Sodus Town as well as Sodus Town A.L.S. The Sodus Fire Department responded
to assist with fire police to block off Ridge road while the cars where being removed from the
scene. Wallington F.D. had 15 Firefighters on scene. All was secured and returned to service at 3:30 pm.
Also on standby for the duration of the call were Sodus Point Ambulance and Fairville Ambulance as
all of Sodus area ambulances were out on this call.
Tanker Assist to Sodus For Brush Fire

Wallington Engine Company went mutual assistance into Sodus for a brush pile out of control on a local
farm on Vanslycke Road. We assisted Sodus F.D. with Tanker 22 and East Williamson assisted with
their brush truck and manpower. Also on-hand from Wallington were 10 firefighters and Wallington
Car 24-1 was on scene. This incident took place on Friday night around 19:30 Hours. All departments
were clear a short time later.
