2-Car M.V.A.
May 29th, 2007
Wallington Engine Co. was dispatched to a reported 2-car M.V.A at the intersection of State
Route 104 and Barclay Road. Injuries were minor with one sign-off and the other transported
to Newark Wayne Hospital for observation due to air bag deployment. The one vehicle was also
transporting a dog which was taken to Sodus Veterinary Clinic for a checkup. Wallington car 24-3
was command assisted at the scene by Engine 39, M-32, and 8 firefighters in addition to Sodus
Center Ambulance, ( S.T.A.C.) WN-26 Ambulance, as well as the County fly car Medic - 82, and N.Y.
State troopers. Scene was secured and turned over to the N.Y State police for follow-up
investigation.
Fire Police to assist Sodus
May 24th, 2007
Wallington Engine Co. went mutual assistance with Sodus Fire Department to block off traffic at the
intersection of Kelly Road and Ridge Road while Sodus F.D. was working a 2 car M.V.A. at the intersection
of State Route 104 and Ridge Road. 3 minor injuries were reported there. Also assisting S.F.D at the scene
was Sodus Center Ambulance AM-12 and Sodus Town Ambulance. WN-29 Wallington had cars 24-1,2,3,4 and M-32
on scene as well as 5 Firefighters.
Cheifs' Investigation
May 23rd, 2007
Call came into dispatch for smoke in the area causing a local resident to have trouble breathing.
24-3 went to the scene of 8002 Sergeant Road where a Sodus Point fireman and the homeowner where
already extinguishing the fire. 24-3 notified the Fire Dispatcher that the scene was secure and was
being taken care of by the homeowner. Clearing the scene at 9:06 pm. No equipment was requested.
A.M.A. with Sodus FD
May 21st, 2007
Near the noon hour of Monday Wallington Engine Co. was dispatched automatic mutual aid with Sodus F.D.
for a reported control burn with a barn involved. 24-3 went to the scene and assisted Sodus car 19-2.
At that time 19-2 requested one engine from both departments to wet down the area around the fire.
Homeowner was there watching the fire but it got a little big for their garden hose. Engine 40 went on
scene with 4 firefighters assisting 24-3 and 19-2 with manpower and standby. Sodus Engine 26 was used
for the operation using its booster reel. All units went back into service just shortly after 12 noon.
Natural Gas Leak
May 19th, 2007
Wallington Engine Co. was dispatched around 8:15am for the smell of natural gas in the residence.
Car 24-1 went on scene at 8:17am followed by 24-3, 4, Engine-40, Tanker-22, and M-32. Residence
check determined that the place was a propane customer, gas sniffer found nothing in or outside
the structure. 24-1 cleared the scene and all Wallington units went back into service around 8:45am
Car M.V.A.
May 15th, 2007
In the late morning hours of Tuesday, Wallington Engine Co. was dispatched to a two-car M.V.A.
at the intersection of Ridge Road and Kelly Road. M-32 and E-39 were on scene shortly after
dispatched. Car 24-3 was on scene shortly thereafter with assistance from Sodus Center Ambulance
and Wayne Co. Sheriffs Dept. Everybody was O.K. and refused medical treatment. W.F.D. was cleared
and the scene was turned over to the Wayne Co. Sheriffs Dept. Wallington went back into service
around 11:15 AM.
Another L.Z.
May 11th, 2007
On the evening of Friday, Wallington Engine Co. was requested to set up a landing zone for Mercy Flight.
Alton Ambulance was bringing in a patient with a serious stroke. Wallington car 24-3 was command-assisted
by Engine 39, and M –32, as well as 11 firemen. Alton was assisted on scene and during transport to the
L.Z. by Newark A.L.S. Patient was transported to Strong Hospital in Rochester. W.F.D. went back into service
around 8:45pm
2-Car MVA
May 10th, 2007
Wallington Engine Co. responded to a two-car M.V.A. at the intersection of State Route 104, and South Geneva
Road. Wallington command was car 24-1, assisted by 24-2, and 4, as well as Engine - 39 and M-32. Over 17
firefighters on scene. Assisting W.F.D. Was Alton Ambulance, Sodus Center Ambulance, and Sodus Town A.L.S.
Wallington went back into service a short time later.
Mercy Flight Land Zone
May 7th, 2007
Around 2:30 AM Monday, Wallington Engine Co. was dispatched to set up a landing zone at our station.
Alton fire department was working a one-car roll over on State Route 14 just south of their hamlet.
Car 24-3 was the L.Z. contact and 24-1 and 4 assisted, as well as E-39, M-32, and 7 other firemen.
Lyons Ambulance transported the patient to the L.Z. and was air lifted to Strong
Hospital in Rochester, N.Y.....
Two L.Z.s for Mercy Flight at the same time
May 7th, 2007
Around 5 pm on Monday afternoon Wallington Engine Co. was dispatched again to set up two Landing
Zones for Mercy flight at our station for the third time in a 15-hour period. This time it was to
assist the North Rose F.D. who was working a two-car M.V.A. with entrapment on State Route 104, and
Fifth Road. W.F.D. landed the two choppers at the station with car 24-3 as command, assisted by 24-1,
2-4, Engine 39, M-32 as well as 15 Firefighters. Patients where transported to the L.Z. by North Rose
Ambulance and Rose Ambulance. Patients where then transported to Strong Hospital in Rochester.
All was secured and back in service around 5:45 PM....
MVA Rollover
May 5th, 2007
Wallington Engine Co. was dispatched in the early morning hours of Saturday when a call came in of a
reported roll over. Second call stated people trapped. Upon arrival, Car 24-1 reported nobody in the
car. Cars 24-3 and 4 were there soon after, as well as E-39 and M-32. 15 Firefighters where on hand,
as well as the Wayne Co. Sheriffs Dept. Sodus Center Ambulance and S.T.A.C. (Sodus Town Ambulance)
A.L.S. and the NYState DEC. Occupants of the van were located a short time later in a nearby trailer.
