Wallington Engine Company assisted the Sodus Point fire department by setting up a landing zone
for a helicopter that was requested for a motorcycle patient that had crashed her bike on Lake Road
and North Geneva Road. The landing zone was set up at our station and Car 24-2 was command with assistance
from 15 other firefighters. M-32 and Engine 39 where also on hand for the LZ. All W.F.D. units where
cleared at 8:20 pm Also assisting the S.P.F.D. was Sodus Town A.L.S. Medic 88...
Assist Into Sodus 4 Car MVA
July 23rd, 2007
Wallington Engine Company went mutual assistance into Sodus for fire police to block off traffic at
Rotterdam Road and State Route 104. Two cars came head-on while two others where involved trying to
avoid it. In all 7 Ambulances, 3 fly cars, 3 Helicopters, 3 rescues, 1 Engine, and 1 Tanker were on
scene. Sodus car 19 - 1 was command. Wallington assisted with patient lifting, as well as traffic
control .One of our firefighters was nearby when the call went out and put out the one car that was
on fire when he arrived on scene just after it happened. 17 Wallington firefighters were on scene as
well as an engine crew on standby back in our station. Great work by all those involved, … showed
that training together really works for everybody....
2 Calls At One Time
July 19th, 2007
Wallington Engine Company was dispatched at 9:22AM to assist the Sodus Point Ambulance in lifting
a patient. At the time of arrival the Medic on scene requested A.L.S. assist as well as Mercy Flight
to land at the Wallington Fire Station. M-32 went to the scene at 7217 Halcus Road to help lift,
while Engine -39 set up the landing zone at the station. Wallington had 10 firefighters in addition
to the assisting medics from Sodus Town , Sodus Center and Sodus Point for transport. All was cleared
and Wallington went back into service at 11:02AM.
Standby for Sodus Point Fireworks
July 3rd, 2007
Wallington went into service at 7 pm on Tuesday with an Engine to standby at the loop for the Sodus
Point fireworks. The fireworks display draws thousands of people from all over upstate NY. Sodus
Point Fire Department, along with 9 other departments, stages equipment and manpower all over the
area for protection and coverage due to the congestion of traffic and people. It works out well every
year. On scene for Wallington was Car 24-3 and Engine 40 with 10 firefighters for a 4-hour standby.
All was cleared and back in service at 11 pm.
