2 Calls Back-to-Back with Sodus F.D.: Chimney Fire & Snowmobile Accident
February 28th, 2008

Wallington Engine Company was dispatched at 15:04 hours to 6789 Maple Ave to run mutual assistance with the Sodus F.D. that was already working a M.V.A. call. Wallington responded with Assistant chief 24-2, Engine-40 and M-32, along with 18 firefighters. At 16:00 hours as this call was wrapping up, Sodus was banged out for a snowmobile into the school on Mill Street. At the request of Sodus Fire Chief Wallington responded to the scene to assist Sodus with that call. Same Wallington units also responded to this scene. The sled was a complete loss, however serious injuries were avoided. Wallington went back into service from the Assist at 16:45 hours.

Possible Electrical Fire at Normandy Inn
February 17th, 2008

Around 19:10 hours of Sunday the 17th, Wallington Engine Company was dispatched to the Normandy Inn for a possible electrical fire. Sparks were visible on the outside of building. Chiefs 24-1,2,3,4 all responded - along with 26 firefighters, E-40, Tanker-22 and M-32. Upon further investigation and a look over the entire structure, the cause of the power outage was determined to be tree branches blowing in the wind and causing the wires to arc which in turn caused the power to go out in the restaurant. R.G.&E responded with a crew and the scene was turned over to them. Wallington was cleared from the scene around 20:00 hours.
