Alton Works ATV Accident with Serious Injuries , Request Mercy Flight  8-28-10
At 2340 hours Wallington was requested by Alton Command to respond in with there Off Road Rescue unit ( ORR-32  ) and there Rescue-32 to the scene of a ATV accident 400 yards off the road with serious injuries.  The location was near the Intersection of York Settlement Road and State Route 14. Assistant Chief 24-3 was off road operations and Chief 24-1 was command for the Wallington assignment at the Command post.  During the operation of removing the patient from the wooded area. Wallington was also requested to set up a Mercy Flight Landing Zone at a near by parking lot at the J-T Storage Facility. Engine-40  along with Assistant Chief 24-4 took that assignment. The Assignment was cleared and all units were  back in service at 0118 hours.

Natural Gas Leak at the Stove  8-24-10

Wallington was dispatched at 1723 hours to a possible gas leak at the stove. at 40 Sergeant Street. All Wallington units were to stand by in quarters per Sodus Chief 19-1.  Wallington had 17 firefighters at the Station . Chief 24-1 was lead officer for our assignment . Call was cleared out at 1731 hours.

Automatic Fire Alarm at Sodus Free Library 8-23-10
At 910 hours Wallington was toned out to responded to 17, Maple Ave in th Village of Sodus ,for an automatic fire alarm. It was caused by a power surge in the town . All Wallington units were held in quarters while Chief 24-1 confirmed the call. The call was cleared at 928 hours.

Strange Odor in Warehouse on Barclay Rd. 8-10-10
Wallington responded  to ,6151 Barclay Rd at 1433 hours for the complaint of a strange odor in the facility. Engine-40 and Rescue-32 along with Assistant Chief 24-2 and 10 firefighters responded.The situation was quickly cleared up and all units were back in service at 1525 hours.


Wallington Fire Police Assist Sodus FD 8-10-10

Wallington Assistant chief 24-2 along with Rescue-32 and 10 firefighters, blocked off State Rt. 104 and Maple Ave at 1113 hours, while Sodus was working a Car versus Semi on Rotterdam Rd and 104.  All Wallington units were back in service at 1417 hours.

Electrical Fire Village of Sodus  8-2-10
At 1303 hours Wallington responded to 4 Spring Street in the Village of Sodus for a possible electrical fire. Engine-40 along with 8 firefighters responded.The problem was quickly handled to save from any damage.  All units were back in service at 1325 hours….

Standby for Alton F.D 7-31-10

Wallington stood by in Altons Fire Station for them While they assisted the North Rose Fire Department at a Trailer Fire at 9014 Catchpole Road. Engine-40 , and Rescue-32 Along with Assistant Chiefs 24-3 and 4 and 13 members were on hand for the assignment.

Electrical Fire Heluva Good Cheese Facility 6152 , Barclay Road 7-30-10

At 1549 hours Engine-40 and Rescue -32 along with Assistant Chief 24-2 and 13 firefighters responded to the scene . Making quick work of the situation and find the cause of the problem. It was determined to be a over heated cooler ballast. Thermal Imaging Camera was used to check the area. All was cleared and Wallington units went back into service at 1614 hours.

Fire at Sodus High School 7-29-10

Wallington was requested by Sodus command to respond to the Sodus High School 54 Mill Street at 1935 hours. Wallington responded with Engine-40 to the structure , Rescue-32 and Tanker -22 to the scene as well With Engine-39 staging at the Hydrant for water supply. The fire was contained to a 50 gallon drum out side the building near the wood shop room. Fans and Thermal Imaging Camera were used to ventilate the Building and Check for any possible fire extension in the ventilation system . Wallington Chief 24-1 was lead officer for Wallington on scene assisted by 22 firefighters from the Engine Company. All units were back in service at 2044 hours.

Chiefs Investigation 7-9-10

Assistant Chief 24-2 was requested by County Dispatch to investigate the foul odor of something along State Route 104 just East of Geneva Rd.There was nothing found and it was determined that maybe some one thought it came from some cleaned out tank cars on the tracks that are being stored locally by Midland Railroad.

Carbon Monoxide Detector Activation 7-8-10

Wallington was toned out A.M.A. with Sodus F.D. at 1335 hours to respond to 6996, Ridge Rd. Wallington Assistant Chief 24-2 responded and Engine-40 was leaving the station when they were cancelled for the call. 24-2 confirmed the cancellation and all Wallington units were back in service at 1351 hours 4 members responded.

Stand By For Fire Works Display 7-3-10

Wallington like in years past took an Engine crew ( E-40 ) and ORR-32 crew down into Sodus Point for fire coverage during there annual fireworks display. Crews were in service from 1935 hours till 2337 hours. There were at least 10 members present and available for service.

Large Barn Fire In Clyde Tanker Responds 7-3-10

Around 730 hours Wallington was requested by Clyde command To send Tanker-22 to the scene of a very large barn fire measuring 120 ft x 85 feet full of hay. The fire was at a farm East of Clyde on Welch Rd. In all there were at least 12 Fire Departments involved at the scene or on standby. Wallington was back in service from the call around 1130 hours.

Fence on Fire 7-2-10

Wallington was dispatched at 229 hours for a fence on fire at The Hydration Station in the hamlet . Was called in by a passerby Chiefs 24-2 and 3 were en route. When dispatchcame on and notified all responding units that the fire was nock down and out by the Sheriffs on location. Wallington already had Engine-40 and 5 firefighters en route and on scene. Wallington cleared the scene at 247 hours , and the Sheriffs department is investigating the cause of the small fire.
